Terms of Use

Knotbook, by Spyxpo Technologies Private Limited. Effective 2026-08-23.

By installing or using Knotbook you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

1. Licence

Spyxpo grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Knotbook.

The free tier is free to use for as long as you like, personally or commercially. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, valid on up to 3 devices at a time. You can free a device slot in Settings.

This is a licence to use. The software is proprietary and is not open source. See LICENSE.

2. What you may not do

• Redistribute, resell, sublicense or rent Knotbook, or the Pro licence key.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded.
• Circumvent the licensing to obtain Pro features without buying them.
• Remove or alter the notices in the software.

3. Your content is yours

Your notes are your property. Spyxpo claims no rights over them and holds no copy — they are files on your disk. You are responsible for backing them up.

4. Beta software

Knotbook is currently released as a public beta. It is offered as-is, under active development, and may contain defects. Do not use it as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Because notes are plain markdown files in a folder you control, an ordinary file backup protects them completely, and we recommend one.

5. Payment and refunds

Pro is sold through Razorpay. Prices are shown at checkout and may change; a change never affects a licence already bought.

Refunds within 14 days of purchase, no reason required. Email support@spyxpo.com with your licence key.

6. Third-party services

Knotbook can, at your direction, connect to third-party services — model hosts, a search engine, your payment provider. Their terms apply to those interactions. PRIVACY.md lists every one.

7. Availability

The licence server, update endpoint and website are provided on a best-efforts basis without an uptime guarantee. Knotbook keeps working offline, including a Pro licence already activated on a device.

8. Warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, Knotbook is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and consumer rights under Indian law are unaffected.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Spyxpo's total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for Knotbook in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect losses.

10. Termination

The licence ends if you materially breach these terms. On termination, stop using the software and remove it. Your notes remain yours and remain on your disk — they are not affected.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Punjab, India have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any right you have to bring proceedings where you live.

12. Changes

Material changes are announced in the app and the effective date changes. Continuing to use Knotbook after a revision means accepting it.
