Plugins

Browse community-built Knotbook plugins, or publish your own. Plugins are .knotplug files — a JSON envelope with a manifest and the JS entry source — exported from the desktop app. See the developer guide to build one.

How plugins work

  1. In Knotbook, open the sidebar's Plugins section, right-click a plugin you installed from a folder, and choose Export as .knotplug… to save a single-file archive.
  2. Sign in here and click Upload plugin. Add a preview image so others can see what they're getting.
  3. Anyone can download a .knotplug file from this page and import it from the desktop app's sidebar: Plugins → + opens the file picker.
  4. Plugins are imported disabled by default. Review the manifest, then click the plugin row in the sidebar to enable it. Need to build one? Read the developer guide.
